Formal meetings allow you to accomplish a lot quickly as it keeps everyone on track. They are not good for being creative. If you want creative, go informal, and give yourself some time to solve it. Usually we’re in such a rush that we take the first idea that meets the requirements, instead of digging for a second, third, or fourth.

It’s hard to give individual attention when there’s a million other things to do; it’s harder to connect with people when you’re not really there.
It’s hard to leave an amazing blog comment that you could use for your own; it’s harder to build relationships when you don’t share.
It’s hard to make time to read, it’s harder to grow when you don’t invest in yourself.
It’s hard to break a bad habit; it’s harder to live with something you know is destructive.
It’s hard writing this (after all, someone might expect me to live up to it); it’s harder to go through life without a challenge to be better.

Maybe what’s hard is really easy… considering the alternative.

“Innovation” does not have to be disruptive. It’s small things, too. But big or small what innovation does is remove steps and/or improve the users experience. Instead of doing this, this, this and this (4 steps), now do this and this (2 steps). Radios were analog and finding 99.5 was a guess. Now they’re digital and you know exactly what frequency you’re tuned to.
If my hotel gives frequent flyer miles, why don’t they offer to print my boarding pass for the returning flight? Why don’t gas stations have a pump for me to top off my windshield washer fluid? Why can’t I choose the kind of “on hold” music when I’m waiting for the conference line to open?
It’s not always about flying cars and traveling through time. Make your customers life easier in little things, too.
